Coaches Corner

The Youth Sports League of Redwood City, in order to carry out our mission, requires that all Volunteer Coaches complete the following:

  • Fingerprinting by local Law Enforcement Agency.
  • Attend all Mandatory Coaches Meetings for each sport they coach.
  • Attend the Team-Up for Youth Coaches Training prior to 1st season as coach. (Only one Coaches Training is required per school calendar year.)
  • Sign and adhere to Coaches Code of Conduct.

Mandatory Coaches Trainings put on by Team Up For Youth. (teamupforyouth.org)

Fall
Mandatory Team Up For Youth Coaches Training for Fall Sports is Wednesday, Sept. 30th 2009 at Red Morton from 6:30-8:30pm.

Winter
Mandatory Team Up For Youth Coaches Training for 4th/5th Basketball is Monday, Nov. 9th 6:30-8:30pm at Red Morton.

Mandatory Team Up For Youth Coaches Training for 6th, 7th, 8th Basketball & 4th/5th Girls’ Soccer is Wednesday, Jan. 20th, 6:30-8:30pm at Red Morton.

Spring
Mandatory Team Up For Youth Coaches Training is on Monday, April 12th 6:30-8:30pm at Red Morton.

Coaches Code
As a Volunteer Coach in the Youth Sports League of Redwood City, all coaches agree to teach and encourage proper rules of the game and follow the Coaches Code of Conduct. If a coach fails to comply with the above requirements and/or violates the Code of Conduct, the coach will be subject to sanctions set forth in the By-Laws, including, but are not limited to, ejection, suspension, and/or removal from any and all coaching duties.

Parents Code
In order for a participant's registration to be complete, a parent or guardian must also sign a Code of Conduct form. The purpose of this form is to help ensure that parent(s) or guardian understands the behavior expectations our league has for spectators. Any violation of this Code of Conduct can result in sanctions including, but not limited to, being prohibited from attending any scheduled game or match.
